I've always said I'm a fan-girl more than anything else; the sparse contents of my gallery would attest to that A few weeks ago, though, I was given a chance to do a bit more than wave adoringly at the artists I admire.

started it all when he called for local comic book artists to join him in producing a title that would unite their original creations -- superheroes all -- in a single publication, Bayan Knights.



Many of these heroes pay tribute to the caped and costumed idols of old, but at the same time these are heroes who have to stand up for a country, a world grown more cruel, incomprehensible, and cold.

It is, I think, my deepest, greatest honor to be part of this endeavor that brings together so many talented artists with their myriad ideas, their fire, their determination to pursue their dream despite numerous personal obstacles.

These artists, I believe, are the real heroes and their work deserves everything I've got.
