Oookay...what was I thinking?

A few days ago, :iconorphanshadow: posted a caricature that I found fascinating and I suggested he could put it in a 3x3 grid à la Warhol.

Gave me an idea...

I had these cruddy graduation pics I took of myself with my ever (not so) reliable phone cam. They were itsy bitsy as usual and I had fiddled around with them using the phone's own photo manip software (gads, whodathunk the phone actually came with something nifty?)

Anyway, here's my feeble attempt at salvaging those shots... dunno if I even selected the right category.

Be kind :)

Nice idea!
My favourite is the middle left, black and white one. :)

Am taking commissions for clay miniature pointe ballet shoes - can make them to hang on the wall, as fridge magnets etc. Also make miniature ponds and water features for dolls house gardens. Note me for details.

Hee, thankee! I'm just puttering here really, but I got the inspiration for the photo tweaking from you :D Here's hoping future attempts manage to look a wee bit more competent. Thanks for dropping by! :blowkiss:

I think it's adorable... :flirty:

Of those, I like the effect on the lower right hand corner. You should experiment more with that look.

Congratulations again on your graduation... Professor! :)

I think you'll find that these days nearly every photo is tweaked in some way. I know mine are nearly always tweaked, with only the odd exception. But enhancing colour, increasing contrast etc can really make a difference. Not so it looks unnatural but so that you're showing just how beautiful some scenery might have been in reality, only your photo might not have been able to show it. Often I take pics that looked gorgeous in reality but the shot is disappointing.

The more you practice editing/generally taking pics/getting the composition right etc, the better you get. Some of my early photos are soooo blah! :D

Thanks for that bit of insight :) I've found that my phone's 2-megapixel capacity can hardly capture the image I want, so discovering what "tweaking" tools can do has been a huge help.

'Course I _should_ get myself a proper camera, one that i can bring anytime (the one at home is still the size of a brick, digital notwithstanding)

Next step -- graduate from Microsoft Photo Editor to some basic sort of Photoshop

I would love a really good camera - a Nikon D40 ideally - but money is tight whilst we're saving for a house deposit. My camera at the moment is a crappy old Vivitar. But that is why editing is such a lifesaver! ;) :D
